"Unlike self-criticism, which asks if you're good enough, self-compassion asks what's good for you?"
- Kristin Neff
Join us for an online 7-week supportive journey into self-compassion for healthcare and caregivers.
Through mindfulness practices and compassionate self-inquiry we can embody resilience and navigate distress.
These free, online classes are offered as 7-week series and can be participated in live or watched as recordings to support your individual practice. Each series will include instructions and guidance around meditation skills, practical teachings on self-compassion, and group sharing and discussion.
About the Course
Mindfulness practice grounds us in the present moment and self-compassion supports us to not internalize the distress, but navigate it with openness. Without our capacity to understand how we care for ourselves, we will not fully understand how we care for others. As the Dalai Lama once said, “Caring for others requires caring for ourselves.” Buddhist and secular approaches to self compassion will support this journey together, as well as the latest research in this field of compassion. When we can slow down and connect to ourselves we discover our common humanity and this opens us to new possibilities for being with hard truths and difficult moments.
